What is a perfect week?

DIETS

Seven days of eating healthy. Lunch provides high protein, chicken breast, tuna, or boiled eggs. Super healthy grain bread and perhaps an avocado for extra fat. Dinners begin no later than 6 pm, starting with a large salad, followed by lean meat and a very small portion of healthy carbs.

WORKOUTS

Strong, stable, and injury-free.

Minimums:

  • 4 days of weights
  • 2 days of yoga
  • 2 days of cardio // Sprint intervals
  • 1 day of cardio // Peloton)

STUDIES

  • 4 hours of Vietnamese
  • Business books
  • Well-roundness books (psychology, history, spirituality, biographies)

TIMING

If dinner is done by 7 pm, and sleep time is at 10:30, that’s about 3.5 hours available. Even with a shower and reading in bed, I can fall asleep by 11:15 pm, wake up early.

Can I do this?

Out of 52 weeks in the year, how many “Perfect Weeks” can I achieve?

Theoretically, 100%!

What are the obstacles that don’t allow for such a thing?

  • Internally: Getting bored with the routine, losing focus or will. Distractions like TV and phone.
  • Externally: Outside obligations and social pressures like birthdays, work events, etc.

Realistically, achieving 52/52 is virtually improbable. However, achieving a “Perfect Week” even a handful of times can be an  ideal reset, influencing the following weeks to be more productive.

Saturday, this is the perfect day of the week to plan for the Perfect Week ahead. Planning and considering risks, weaknesses, threats, and vulnerabilities will be key to achieving the Perfect Week. Once the Perfect Week is outlined, grading oneself, one’s performance can be quite easy.

One important variable to consider is my “feelings in the moment” and the BS excuses the mind wants me to believe for why I cannot or need not hit the targets.

Past Version of Me and Future Version of Me.

Both want me to perform. I must not trust the Now Version of Me, the one who wants, in the moment, to accept falling short and losing momentum, willing to fail in achieving my goals. I need to sandwich Now with Past and Future, holding Now accountable to Past’s plan, and Future’s winnings.
